Meet the Board Mixer: Building Connections, Celebrating Community

On August 15, 2025, the Lynn Hispanic Scholarship Fund (LHSF) proudly hosted its Meet the Board Mixer at La Copa Café Restaurant Bar in Lynn, MA. The evening brought together board/ committee members, community leaders, alumni and friends to celebrate our mission, strengthen connections, and spark conversations about the future of Latino student success.

Guests had the chance to meet the dedicated individuals who serve on our board and committees. From warm introductions to lively discussions, the mixer was all about building bridges, whether you’re curious about our work, considering volunteer opportunities, or simply looking to connect with community-minded people, this event made space for it all.

The mixer highlighted the Lynn Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s commitment to supporting Latino youth through scholarships, college-prep workshops, alumni engagement, and leadership development. Since 1991, LHSF has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to more than 300 students, and we’re just getting started.

We heard from Carlos Quintanilla, Director of Operations, who shared upcoming opportunities to get involved, the work ahead, and most importantly why this mission matters now more than ever. We also heard from Board President, Vicky Rivera, who highlighted our accomplishments this year and expressed the excitement we all share for continuing this important work.

Highlights from the Evening

• Board members shared their experiences and encouraged attendees to get involved in leadership and committee roles for the upcoming 2026 term.

• Guests enjoyed networking in a casual, welcoming environment while enjoying some delicious food from La Copa cafe.

• The colorful backdrop of La Copa Café and the energy of our community made for an unforgettable night , captured in photos and video full of smiles, laughter, and inspiration. Gracias Jose!

What’s Next

The mixer was just the beginning. We are preparing for a Virtual Recruitment Info Session this September 9th, 2025, where we’ll dive deeper into board opportunities, committee needs, and ways to volunteer. Our goal is to continue building a strong, passionate team dedicated to empowering Lynn’s Latino youth.
