Applying for a scholarship can feel like a lot to keep track of. We’re here to make the process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Below is a step-by-step guide to the LHSF scholarship process, from checking your eligibility and submitting your application to receiving your scholarship.
Remember: Our application is posted in February and due in March.
February - Applications Open
Start your LHSF scholarship application.
Before you begin, make sure you meet the basic eligibility requirements:

You are a high school senior

You live in Lynn, Massachusetts

You attend a high school in Lynn
-
You are of Latino/Hispanic descent
To receive the scholarship, recipients must be accepted into a certificate/technical program or a two- or four-year accredited institution of higher education as an undergraduate student for the fiscal year following the grant award. Applicants awaiting an admissions decision are encouraged to apply and may provide this document once received.
March - Application Deadline
Submit your completed application and required materials by the March deadline.
Your application must include your:

Once the application period closes, the LHSF Scholarship Committee reviews the applications and selects scholarship recipients.
Please note: Applications or required materials submitted after the deadline may not be considered.
Spring/Summer - Confirm Your College Enrollment
Before your scholarship funds can be released, you must provide proof that you are enrolled in your college or post-secondary program.
You will typically submit this information during the summer, by August or September, once your enrollment is confirmed.
Acceptable proof may include:

Other documentation requested by LHSF
Important: You do not need to have your enrollment documentation at the time you apply in March. You will provide proof of enrollment later, once you have committed to and enrolled in your program.

Tip: You don't need to request a letter of recommendation specifically for LHSF. Feel free to use one you already requested for your other applications!
Spring - Scholarship Recipients Are Selected
LHSF will contact selected students with information about the scholarship and the next steps.
If you are selected to receive an LHSF scholarship, congratulations!
One important next step:
Plan to attend the LHSF Scholarship Selection Gala in the spring, typically in May.
Our gala is a celebration of our scholarship recipients, their families, and the Lynn community that supports them.

August/September - Receive Your Scholarship
Once LHSF has received and verified your proof of enrollment, your scholarship funds can be released according to LHSF’s payment process.
