ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The LHSF will award scholarships based on educational achievements and community involvement.

 

To be eligible to apply for the Lynn Hispanic Scholarship Fund you must meet all of the following criteria:

• Be a senior graduating from a Lynn high school

• Be Hispanic/Latino or of Hispanic/Latino ancestry

• Be a resident of Lynn

• Be accepted at a certificate/technical program, a two- or four-year accredited institution of higher education, as an undergraduate student during the fiscal year following the grant award, in order to receive the scholarship

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

The Lynn Hispanic Scholarship Fund (LHSF) awards financial scholarships per academic year to graduating Hispanic/Latino seniors from any of the Lynn high schools. It is essential that you meet the eligibility criteria and that you submit a completed application by the deadline. Please complete all parts of the application and ensure that all attachments contain your full name.

 

*Your application must be completed online and submitted via this form no later than 11:59 pm on Friday, March 14, 2025.  Please note: No exceptions will be made regarding the deadline.

 

Applications will be screened by the LHSF and final selections will be made by the Lynn Hispanic Scholarship Fund Selection Committee. All decisions are final.

 

Checks to the students will be issued in September 2025, after the students send us proof of their college registration.​

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND INSTRUCTIONS

Please note: Make sure you are ready to submit the documentation listed below when you are completing this online application. You will not be able to save and return at a later date. Your application will not be considered complete without all of these materials:

​

• Resume:  Attach a list of your extracurricular activities, including community service, employment, athletic participation and membership in any enrichment programs.

• Essay:  Describe how your Hispanic/Latino ethnicity influences your educational aspirations and, by fulfilling them, how you will give back to your Lynn community. Be concise and incorporate your personal experience to develop your response. The essay must be double-spaced and between 300-500 words.

• Transcript:  Request your high school transcript, including senior year grades, from your high school counselor and attach it.

• College Acceptance Letter:  Attach a copy of the acceptance letter from the college or university you hope to attend.

• Letter of Recommendation:  One letter of recommendation from a school official, past or present employer, or a community leader. Students are not allowed to submit their letter of recommendation online. Please have your recommender email their letter directly to the Selection Committee at application@lynnhispanicscholarshipfund.org.

Para ser elegible para solicitar al Fondo de Becas Hispanas de Lynn, debe cumplir con todos los criterios siguientes:

PROCEDIMIENTOS DE SOLICITUD

El Fondo de Becas Hispanas de Lynn (LHSF) otorga becas cada año académico a estudiantes hispanos/latinos en el último año en de la secundaria en cualquiera de las escuelas secundarias de Lynn. Es esencial que cumpla con los criterios de elegibilidad y que envíe una solicitud completa antes de la fecha límite. Complete todas las partes de la solicitud y asegúrese de que todos los archivos adjuntos contengan su nombre completo.

 

* Su solicitud se debe completar en línea y enviarse a través de este formulario a más tardar el viernes 14 de marzo de 2024 a las 11:59 pm. Tenga en cuenta: No se harán excepciones con respecto a la fecha límite.

• Ensayo:  Describe cómo tu origen étnico hispano/latino influye en tus aspiraciones educativas y, al cumplirlas, cómo contribuirás a tu comunidad de Lynn. Sea conciso e incorpore su experiencia personal para desarrollar su respuesta. El ensayo debe tener espacio doble y tener entre 300 y 500 palabras.

• Archivo académico:  Solicite su expediente académico de la escuela secundaria, incluyendo las calificaciones del último año, de su consejero/a de la escuela secundaria y adjúntelo a continuación.

• Carta de admisión de la institución:  Adjunte una copia de la carta de admisión de el programa de certificcion/tecnicola universidad o institución a la que espera asistir.

• Carta de recomendación:  Una carta de recomendación de un funcionario escolar, empleador actual o anterior, o líder comunitario. Los estudiantes no pueden enviar su carta de recomendación en línea. Pídale a la persona que le esté escribiendo la recomendación de que envíe su carta por correo electrónico directamente al Comité de Selección a application@lynnhispanicscholarshipfund.org.
